The drama, which sees Culkin star opposite Matt Damon and Anna Paquin, finished filming in 2005 but has been tied up in multiple lawsuits as director Lonergan struggled to complete it in the post-production stages.
Producer Scott Rudin, editor Thelma Schoonmaker and the late Sydney Pollack all tried at various stages to help Lonergan complete the ensemble film, about a young woman witnessing a bus accident and getting caught up in the aftermath.
Scott Pilgrim Vs. The World star Culkin told Digital Spy of Margaret's fate: "Apparently we're going to be seeing it in 2011, that's that I hear, but I maybe shouldn't even be spreading that rumour. Actually, I got to see it a little while ago, it's a beautiful movie."
Culkin also called Lonergan's 2000 directorial debut You Can Count On Me, which netted star Laura Linney a 'Best Actress' Oscar nomination, "an amazing movie".
