The actress told DS that previous dance training stood her in good stead for scenes that required her to wield a giant hammer.
"It was a lot like dance choreography," she said. "There were counts of '5, 6, 7, 8' as we were fighting. It was like doing a musical only a lot tougher in the kick-ass way. For me, I grew up dancing so I think that helped a lot, at least for memorising the choreography."
Co-star Ellen Wong, whose character Knives Chau battles with blades, added: "It got to the point where we were both comfortable with our weapons. I think that was most important - we didn't feel like we were holding foreign objects in our hands.
"From that being able to find comfort with the weapons, being one with your weapon was really important. [It was] key to us being able to deliver the choreography of the amazing fight team."
