
The Constant Gardener was the big winner at last night's British Independent Film Awards.
Held at London's Hammersmith Palais, the ceremony saw the Fernando Meirelles-helmed adaptation of John Le Carre's novel take the award for Best British Independent Film, whilst its stars Ralph Fiennes and Rachel Weisz received kudos as Best Actor and Best Actress respectively.
Meanwhile, tense horror movie The Descent was given two awards. Neil Marshall was named Best Director and Jon Harris received the award for Best Technical Achievement in his role as editor on the film.
Tipped for an Oscar for her performance in Pride and Prejudice, Keira Knightley walked away with the Variety UK Personality of the Year Award. Knightley has had a busy time recently, having been seen in Domino and The Jacket.
