Oscar-winning duo to pen Tupac movie

Oscar winning-screenwriters Stephen J. Rivele and Chris Wilkinson have been announced to be writing the script for a film about Tupac Shakur.

The writing partners have previously co-written biographical dramas Ali and Nixon.

Wilkinson told New York that the film would focus on the late hip-hop icon's last day and steer clear of biopic stereotypes, stating that the film "is not in any way biopic-y”.

In May, Brooklyn’s Finest director Antoine Fuqua was confirmed to helm the project.
