Sean Connery has announced that he has retired from acting.

The 80-year-old, who played James Bond in seven movies, has said that he doubts that he will ever return to the screen.

Speaking to Bang Showbiz, he said: "I don't think I'll ever act again. I have so many wonderful memories but these days are over."

When asked what his favourite Bond film was, he added: "From Russia With Love was my absolute favourite. The story was intriguing and the locations were intriguing. It was an international movie in every sense of the word."

Last week, actress Honour Blackman described Connery as "the best Bond ever".
