Charlize Theron is apparently set to play the new Bond girl in the adaptation of Casino Royale being made this year.
The Daily Mirror has revealed that the South African star was director Martin Campbell's first choice. She was offered big money to star alongside the new Bond, Daniel Craig.
Theron would bring more than her stunning looks to the role: she won Best Actress in the 2003 Oscars and will hopefully bring this acting prowess to bear on the often dismissed role.
Theron stars in Aeon Flux, which is currently at number 2 at the American box office.
