'Narnia' actors discuss gala premiere

Actors from the new Narnia film have spoken about their experiences at last night's gala premiere.

16-year-old Anna Popplewell, who plays Susan in The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe, said that the premiere had been "amazing, incredible and overwhelming."

The film was created using special animatronics and CGI, especially for scenes involving the lion Aslan, voiced by seasoned actor Liam Neeson.

Howard Berger, who worked on the animatronics and prosthetics for the film, said: "it was the most exciting experience I've ever had, and I've been in the business for 25 years and done a lot of movies and this has been my pet project.

"I've always wanted to do a film like this. I was jealous when (effects expert) Richard Taylor, one of my best friends, was working on Lord of the Rings and I'd go visit him and he'd talk about the characters like they were real, you believe in them so much.

"I thought I wonder if I'll get a chance to do a film like that, and now I have. We believed in everything, we still do."
