Published Thursday, Sep 2 2010, 09:27 BST | By Simon Reynolds

The Oscar-winning English Patient star, who reportedly snubbed approaches to appear in Spielberg's Indiana Jones And The Last Crusade, Schindler's List and Jurassic Park, told 5 Live that she doesn't believe the director creates good roles for women.
"I think he's an amazing producer - he made major films so I would love to work with him once or twice," she said. "But he's more interested in men, I think, more than in women."
The French actress continued: "[With] the feminine world, you have to have some more feminine inspiration and heart, somehow."
Binoche's new film Certified Copy is in UK cinemas from Friday.
