Peter Facinelli: 'I'm Team Edward'

Peter Facinelli has revealed that he is a fan of the relationship between Bella and Edward in the Twilight series.

The actor - who plays vampire Carlisle Cullen in the series - admitted that his preference is only partly based on the fact that the character is his on-screen son.

"I'm Team Edward, because he's my son and I like to keep it in the family," he explained in an interview filmed for Tom's of Maine's 'New Wicked Fresh!' toothpaste.

"If I had no association with the films, I'd still be Team Edward. There's something interesting about living forever, having that eternity."

Facinelli added that he would have considered playing the role of Edward if not for his age.

"If I was maybe ten, eleven years younger - what is Rob [Pattinson], like 24? - I'd like to play Edward. But the apple doesn't fall far from the tree so it's pretty cool playing Carlisle," he joked.
