Grint 'feared Ron Weasley death'

Rupert Grint has revealed that he put off reading Harry Potter And The Deathly Hallows out of fear that his character would die.

The Cherrybomb actor, who stars as Ron Weasley in the film adaptations of JK Rowling's books, told Empire of his concern that the nine years he spent playing the character would come to a tragic end.

He said: "I think I was the last person to read it. I don't know why I didn't, because I'm a big fan of the books, I've read them all. But I was nervous because I'd been hearing so much about characters dying and not making it through to the end. And I wanted Ron to survive!"

Grint also reiterated his previous claim that he was ready to say goodbye to the Harry Potter universe after wrapping up filming of the two-part conclusion to the series.

"Part of me doesn't really want it to end, because I've loved it and it's been a huge part of my life, that routine. But in the same way, it's been ten years of solid filmmaking, so it's nice to have a bit of freedom. Yeah, just be free."

Harry Potter And The Deathly Hallows: Part One is due for release on November 19.
