Christian Slater joins horror 'Playback'

Christian Slater has signed to star in forthcoming horror film Playback.

According to Variety, the actor will play a sinister cop who works to unearth a town's dark secrets.

Slater joins Johnny Pacar, Toby Hemingway, Jonathan Keltz, Alessandra Torresani and Daryl 'Chill' Mitchell in the project, produced by John M. Bennett and Lawrence Robbins.

The movie centres on a group of high school students who unlock an evil that preys on their classmates while digging into their town's past.

The film is directed and written by Michael A. Nickles.
