Hamm has been linked to the Man of Steel role in Warner Bros's franchise reboot. However, the Mad Men actor claimed that rumours surrounding his potential casting are untrue.
"Those are the internet things that one person says, and then 15 more people Twitter it, and then it becomes this sort of phenomenon. It's news to me," he said on Live With Regis And Kelly.
Hamm confessed that he would be keen to play Clark Kent, adding: "If the powers that be are thinking that, I'd like them to get in touch with me. We can maybe discuss it!"
The Dark Knight team of Christopher Nolan, Jonathan Nolan and David Goyer are steering the new as-yet-untitled Superman picture.
