Danny Trejo, Erin Cummings for 'Tarantula'

Danny Trejo and Erin Cummings are reportedly in talks to star in indie action thriller Tarantula.

Director Oley Sassone will helm the picture from a script written by John Kersey, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

Sassone's directing credits include the Roger Corman Fantastic Four movie and episodes of Xena: Warrior Princess and Hercules: The Legendary Journey.

Tarantula will centre on a woman (Cummings) who tries to escape from a violent biker gang.

Trejo would play the leader of the biker gang who is looking for the woman and seeking revenge for the death of his brother.

Cummings also stars in Spartacus: Blood and Sand. Trejo appears in Machete, currently in cinemas.

Production on Tarantula is scheduled to begin in November in Detroit.
