The studio hopes that Peckham, who previously penned Sherlock Holmes, will help prepare the project for its start date sometime this year, The Hollywood Reporter writes.
Chris Pine is attached to star as Ryan, Tom Clancy’s intelligence officer and action hero, and Lost's Jack Bender is attached to direct.
Previously, Ryan has been played by Alec Baldwin, Harrison Ford and Ben Affleck. The new story is set in Russia, against a backdrop of terrorist activity.
