Cobain clips will narrate new biopic

Clips of interviews with Kurt Cobain will narrate a movie being made about his life and influences.
Director AJ Schnack, who has recently started filming in the Nirvana star's home town of Aberdeen, Washington, is working with the author of respected Nirvana book Come As You Are.
"The film is based on a series of interviews that Michael Azerrad conducted with Kurt while researching the book," Schnack told NME. There are more than 25 hours of these audio interviews in all, none of which have been heard before by anyone."
The film will focus on the singer's own perspective on life, and his influences, rather than on the ins-and-outs of the band.
"While I'm not sure that 'narrated' is exactly the right word, you will be listening in on conversations between Kurt and Michael, with Kurt telling his life story for that book," explained the director. "There are no additional interviews with other figures from Kurt's life, just Kurt speaking, with an occasional question or comment from Michael."
"We're not using any archival footage at all," he continued. "The music will focus on bands that influenced Kurt during the various stages of his life. It's unclear what part, if any, Nirvana music may play in the finished film."
The film is set to be screened at film festivals in autumn 2006.
