Burton has hired Winona Ryder to play the role of Elsa, and Martin Landau to provide the voice of Mr. Rzykruski, Deadline reports.
In addition, Martin Short and Catherine O’Hara will portray multiple characters each. Short will play Bob, Nassor, Toshiaki, Victor's Dad and Mr. Bergermeister, while O'Hara will voice Edgar, Weird Girl, Victor's Mum and Gym Teacher.
Based on Burton’s 1984 short, Frankenweenie is about a man who reanimates his dog after it gets hit by a car. The film, written by John August, is scheduled for release on March 9, 2012.
