Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige has revealed that the firm has tentative plans for a Black Widow solo movie, Superhero Hype reports.

Speaking during a group Q&A session to promote the DVD and Blu-ray release of Iron Man 2, the exec confirmed that discussions about the project have taken place.

"We've already started discussions with Scarlett [Johansson] about the idea of a solo movie and have begun putting together concepts, but The Avengers comes first," he said.

Created by Stan Lee, Don Rico and Don Heck in 1964, the character first appeared in Marvel's Tales of Suspense #52. She made her movie debut in Iron Man 2, portrayed by Johansson.

Black Widow's next on-screen appearance is expected to be The Avengers, which arrives in cinemas on May 4, 2012.
