Producer Joel Silver has signed mixed martial arts champion Cung Le for a leading role in upcoming action film Dragon Eyes.
According to Deadline, the movie is based on the Akira Kurosawa classic Yojimbo.
Cung Le will play a mysterious man who comes from an impoverished background in New Orleans. He works to unite the city gangs against corrupt law offices in the MMA-themed project.
The former World Middleweight Strike Force champion co-starred with Dennis Quaid and Ben Foster in the 2009 sci-fi thriller Pandorum.
