French filmmaker Patrick Alessandrin has reportedly left the planned movie adaptation of video game Kane & Lynch.

According to the Los Angeles Times, Lionsgate and Millenium Films are searching for a new director to helm the project, based on the Eidos Entertainment third-person shooter.

The studios are reportedly considering F. Gary Gray (The Italian Job), Antoine Fuqua (Brooklyn's Finest), and Wayne Kramer (Running Scared) for the job.

Production was originally scheduled to begin this October, but the schedule has been pushed back to early 2011.

Bruce Willis and Jamie Foxx are currently attached to the title roles.
