The Back To The Future star will play an eccentric scientist who will take viewers on a journey through different dimensions and the space-time continuum, reports Movieweb.
The movie will feature high-speed and time-lapse photography as well as 3D elements.
The 3D Entertainment Films production will be released in US IMAX cinemas in the spring of 2012.
