The Hollywood Reporter has said that the director is currently considering his next film project, after he dismissed claims that he is linked to an animation called Snootworld.
"I'm trying to catch ideas for a film but I don't have the ideas yet," Lynch explained.
He revealed that the only project he is currently undertaking is a documentary featuring interviews about the legendary founder of transcendental meditation, Maharishi Mahesh Yogi.
The other Laureates announced at Cologne this year include David Simon for the series Treme and Jon Hamm and Elisabeth Moss for Mad Men.
Lynch's most recent release was a promotional internet short for Dior starring Marion Cotillard called Lady Blue Shanghai.
