Coming Soon reports that Twentieth Century Fox have now acquired the rights to adapt the best-selling book, which will be produced by Tim Burton.
Night Watch director Timur Bekmambetov has been working with Burton on the project and will direct the adaptation.
The book's plot follows a similar style and format to Grahame-Smith's other successful novel Pride And Prejudice And Zombies, which sees the author revisit classic works or historical figures with a supernatural twist.
Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter is being lined up for a 3D release in 2012.
