Aronofsky in talks to direct 'Wolverine 2'?

According to Deadline, Aronofsky recently met with Fox chief Tom Rothman to talk about taking over directing duties on the upcoming sequel to X-Men Origins: Wolverine.
The Black Swan helmer and David Slade were the top names on a previously announced shortlist of directors being considered for the project.
Aronofsky's meetings with Fox have apparently rekindled after he did not sign to direct the upcoming Superman film.
If he agrees to helm Wolverine 2, the project would reunite Aronofsky with the star of his 2006 film The Fountain, Hugh Jackman.
