'Piranha' horror to be remade

Chuck Russell (Eraser, Collateral) is to direct a remake of 1978 horror movie Piranha, reports Variety.
The film is set in holiday favourite Lake Havasu in Arizona which becomes less idyllic when a shoal of hungry fish appear through a crack formed by a prehistoric eruption in the bottom of the lake.
Russell scripted the screenplay himself, based on drafts by Josh Stolberg and Peter Goldfinger as well as the original script.
Filming is scheduled to begin this spring.
