According to Vulture, Pepé and a cat he falls in love with and chases, Penelope Pussycat, would be CGI characters, while the rest of the Warner Bros film would be live-action.
The character first premiered in 1945 in a cartoon short.
Chuck Jones's short Pepé Le Pew film For Scent-imental Reasons won an Oscar in 1949.
