When asked "whose views and opinions do you value most" when choosing to watch a film, Kermode was the highest-rated public figure, despite receiving just 3% of the vote.
According to the results of the YouGov questionnaire, 28% of those polled said that they trusted their own opinions rather than those of anyone else.
For those who admitted listening to the views of others, 17% revealed that they trust a friend, 14% a member of their immediate family and 9% a partner. Movie magazines Empire and Film received 1% each.
Kermode presents a weekly film show with Simon Mayo on BBC Radio Five Live every Friday. He also records video segments for his own Kermode Uncut movie blog and contributes to The Culture Show, Newsnight Review, The Observer and Sight and Sound.
New Film 2010 host Claudia Winkleman has said that she would welcome appearances from Kermode on the show.
