According to The Hollywood Reporter, Happytime Murders will be directed by Brian Henson, the son of the legendary puppeteer Jim Henson.
The project had reportedly been in development limbo at Jim Henson Co. but has now been picked up by the studio and is rumoured to begin production in early 2011.
The script is about a world where puppets live alongside humans but are treated as lesser beings, and follows a human detective who tries to solve the murder of a famous puppet.
Brian Henson will both produce and direct Happytime Murders.
