The Hollywood Reporter claims that former O.C. regular Adam Brody will star alongside Greenberg actress Greta Gerwig.
Whit Stillman will write and direct the film, which will be his first since the 1998 hit The Last Days of Disco.
Gerwig will play a new college student who is taken under the wing of a shallow group of girls but falls for a young man played by Brody.
Damsels in Distress is currently being filmed with a release date still to be confirmed.
