Sam Raimi to adapt Japanese video game

Sam Raimi and Rob Tapert of Ghost House Pictures are to produce a big screen adaptation of video game Siren, reports Variety.
The movie version will focus on an American med school student in search of her missing sister in Japan, beginning in a remote mountain village where she is struck by an unspeakable evil.
Michael Gordon will write the script with assistance from Keiichiro Toyama, the game's director.
Production is expected to begin later this year.
