The Wrap announced the news that Universal Pictures are developing a new comedy by the director of the two Sex and the City films.
Although currently untitled, the film will follow its three female leads as they traverse a world designed in the style of a home shopping network.
Winfrey recently voiced a character in Disney's The Princess and the Frog but is best known for her role in the 1985 Spielberg film The Colour Purple, for which she was nominated for 'Best Supporting Actress'.
The Break-Up producer Scott Stuber is also on board for the project, which currently has no announced release date.
