Snipes: 'Blade role is still mine'

Wesley Snipes has claimed that he is still first in line to portray the Marvel Comics hero Blade if the film series continues.

Snipes last appeared as the character in 2004's Blade: Trinity, although it was Kirk Jones who portrayed Blade in the short-lived Spike TV series Blade: The Series.

"Maybe we get around to doing another Blade, except, from what I'm reading, every other actor is talking about playing him, and nobody is talking to Wesley," Snipes revealed to Deadline. "How strange that they don't come and talk to me about it."

Snipes has faced a number of legal troubles, including charges of tax evasion, since the release of Blade: Trinity.
