Sloat made his feature film debut in the 2007 original and returned to reprise his role in the recent sequel. He has now revealed that he thought the idea of a second film was awful, reports WENN.
He confessed: "When I was initially approached to be part of the sequel I thought, 'There's no way that I wanna be part of that trainwreck.' Along with most of the fans, I just thought it was going to be a money-grabbing, slapdash effort.
"But when [producers] Oren [Peli] and Jason [Blum] signed on and Steven [Schneider] and [director] Tod Williams - and then I read the screenplay - I thought, 'All the pieces are in place.' I got really excited at that point, and it's a great film."
Sloat added that he would be keen to return for a third film in the horror series if the story and production team are up to the same standard as the first two films.
"If the script is good and they ask me, I'm on board, especially if the same team comes back to produce," he said. "There's so many loose ends and threads hanging off the first two movies."
Paranormal Activity 2 is currently top of the UK, US and Australian box office.
