'Ghost Rider 2' budget slashed by $60m

The Marvel sequel, to be directed by Crank duo Mark Neveldine and Brian Taylor in 3D, had initially been handed a $135 million production budget but has now seen it slashed down to $75 million.
According to The Wrap, returning star Nicolas Cage has been forced to take a pay cut from $12 million to $7 million by backers Sony and Hyde Park Entertainment.
The original Ghost Rider pulled in $229 million in 2007 on a budget of $110 million.
The follow-up, to be released on February 17, 2010, will co-star Ciaran Hinds, Violante Placido, Idris Elba, Johnny Whitworth and Christopher Lambert.
