Matt Damon has said that Michael Douglas is still going to star in the pair's Steven Soderbergh-directed Liberace biopic.

Damon told Entertainment Weekly that Douglas - who recently completed his prescribed treatment for throat cancer - is "on schedule" to play the flamboyant pianist.

"[I'm] planning on doing Liberace in the summer with Michael," Damon said. "I've talked to Michael and everything's on schedule for him, which is great. So we've all cleared our schedules and are all really excited about that happening."

Douglas is attached to play Liberace - real name Wladziu Valentino Liberace - while Damon has the role of Scott Thorson, the entertainer's companion who sued for $113 million in palimony in 1982.
