The film, which is slated for a 2012 release date, will see Will Smith and Tommy Lee Jones return to their roles as special agents J and K, as well as Josh Brolin as a younger version of Jones.
Scherzinger, who was rumoured to have been offered a cameo in the movie, confirmed her involvement to E! Online.
She said: "My [character's] name is Lilly. She's like a small villain role. I'm so excited because I get to die. I make an appearance. I say a couple of lines and then I die."
Veteran comedienne Betty White is also reportedly due to appear in the sequel.
