Ball, who developed the project with screenwriter Elan Mastai, will produce the project as well through his HBO-based production company Your Face Goes Here Entertainment, reports Deadline.
Mastai's credits include The F-Word, a project starring Casey Affleck that will soon start production at Fox Searchlight, two HBO shows - True Blood and Six Feet Under - and the 1999 film American Beauty, for which he received a Best Original Screenplay Oscar.
Ball is currently preparing to shoot season four of True Blood.
