The actor, who has led the Jackass troupe since the show debuted on MTV a decade ago, told The Guardian that Hairspray director John Waters once called the extreme stunt team "the gayest straight guys of all time".
"I'm very pleased about [Waters's comment]," Knoxville said. "Jackass The Movie was listed in this book of, like, the greatest gay movies of all time. We were on the cover, and we were like, 'Yes!'"
He added: "We are not macho men; I can't fight a lick."
Discussing the ongoing friendships within the group, Knoxville said: "There was a great spirit about [Jackass 3D]. The camaraderie between the guys was great in the first two movies, but this one was really special.
"You can tell we've been together 10 years, and we're a family. People have kind of grown up with us now."
