In an interview with USA Today, the actor revealed that he's often inquired about appearing in a movie with Portman over the course of his career.
"I've been trying to get her to do a movie with me about six or seven times," Kutcher said. "Every time I have a new one, I ask, 'What if we do it with Natalie Portman?'"
Kutcher also professed admiration for the film's director Ivan Reitman.
He explained: "I was basically raised by Ivan Reitman, me and hundreds of thousands of millions of young and easily influenced young boys. Everything I didn't learn in school I learned from him."
No Strings Attached is released on January 21, 2011 in US cinemas.
