Director found for 'Dark Crystal' sequel

Gennedy Tartakovsky will direct Power of the Dark Crystal for for the Jim Henson Co., Variety reports.
Written by Annette Duffy and David Odell, the sequel to 1982's The Dark Crystal will be set hundreds of years after the events of the original and will focus on a girl made of fire who steals a shard of crystal in order to reignite the fading sun.
Tartakovsky, responsible for animated series Dexter's Laboratory and Star Wars: The Clone Wars, will handle the CGI elements with his Orphanage Animation Studios to go alongside the puppetry.
