It is believed that School Of Rock writer Mike White has been offered the chance to direct the forthcoming adaptation of Pride And Prejudice And Zombies.
Deadline reports that Lionsgate have now made an official offer to White, whose other writing credits include Chuck & Buck, The Good Girl and Nacho Libre.
The film will be adapted from Seth Grahame-Smith's popular novel, which reworks the Jane Austen classic by interspersing it with zombie references and characters.
It is believed that V For Vendetta star Natalie Portman will both produce and star in the film as its female lead.
David O. Russell was previously attached to direct, but left the project over scheduling conflicts.
