Variety claims that Paul Wernick and Rhett Reese, the writers behind the Ruben Fleischer 2009 comedy Zombieland, have signed on to adapt the Shadowline Comics publication.
The comic book was created by AJ Lieberman and Riley Rossmo, and follows the titular Cowboy Ninja Viking, an assassin who has three different personalities and powers.
The project will be co-produced by Mark Gordon, the man behind films like Prime and The League Of Extraordinary Gentlemen.
As well as writing Cowboy Ninja Viking, Wernick and Reese are currently working on scripts for Deadpool, Venom and a sequel to G.I. Joe: The Rise Of Cobra.
