The Knight And Day actress has been offered the lead role in the film and is said to be enthusiastic about reading Todd Berger's script, reports Vulture.
Happytime Murders, from The Jim Henson Company, takes place in a world where humans and puppets co-exist, but the puppets are treated like second-class citizens.
Studio Lionsgate is backing the project, which will offer a twisted take on Henson's Muppet characters. One scene allegedly features a cow mooing in ecstasy as it's milked frantically by an octopus in a 'Puppet Pleasureland' massage parlour.
"This is definitely not a PG-13 movie," a source is quoted as saying. "They're not f**king around with this - it's 'Go big or go home'."
