Cromwell (Babe, L.A. Confidential) will play the part of Captain Stacy, the father of Gwen Stacy (Bryce Dallas Howard). In the Amazing Spider-Man comics, Stacy was killed whilst protecting a child during a battle between the costumed hero and one of his enemies.
Directed by Sam Raimi, Spider-Man 3 will also star Tobey Maguire, Kirsten Dunst, Topher Grace and Thomas Haden Church.
