Jesse L. Martin comes out to play Gaye

Jesse L. Martin has signed on to play soul legend Marvin Gaye in upcoming biopic Sexual Healing, The Hollywood Reporter reveals.
Written and directed by Lauren Goodman, the film will focus on Gaye's last few years when he moved to Belgium after leaving Motown under a cloud of drug addiction and tax problems. The singer was killed by his clergyman father in 1984 on the day before his 45th birthday.
Martin's past credits include Rent, Ally McBeal and Law and Order.
