According to Deadline, a "wide net" has been extended to find a Man of Steel for the superhero reboot. Snyder, Nolan and Warner Bros are allegedly looking to find an up-and-coming actor or TV star between 28 and 32 to fill the iconic comic book role.
Although auditions have yet to take place, actors such as Armie Hammer (The Social Network), Joe Manganiello (True Blood) and Ian Somerhalder (The Vampire Diaries) have been named as potential stars.
Snyder will direct the untitled Superman movie from a script by David Goyer. Nolan, Emma Thomas, Deborah Snyder and Charles Roven will serve as producers.
Production on Superman is due to begin next June for a 2012 release. Warner Bros is eager to start shooting the movie soon as in 2013 some of the rights will revert back to the heirs of creators Jerry Siegel and Joe Shuster.
