Dawson 'playing it cool for Trek role'

Rosario Dawson has claimed that she recently met Star Trek director J.J. Abrams but attempted to downplay her desire to star in the film's sequel.

The actress recently admitted spearheading a Twitter campaign in an attempt to win herself a role in the upcoming movie.

"We flew on the same flight together but we ended up talking about politics and t-shirts," Dawson told The Hollywood Reporter of her encounter with Abrams. "I'm trying to be cool about it."

The actress also claimed that she had now revealed her desire for a role to Star Trek lead Chris Pine, after previously hiding her self-confessed 'trekkie' status.

Dawson will next appear alongside another Star Trek actor, Zachary Quinto, in the first exclusively online-distributed film Girl Walks Into A Bar.
