Fox Searchlight has entered into a deal to make a movie adaptation of Daniel Clowes's Wilson.
The cartoonist is working on a screenplay for the film, with Sideways director Alexander Payne in the running to direct, reports Deadline.
Wilson is Clowes's latest graphic novel, and concerns a middle-aged man desperate to connect with someone.
Clowes previously adapted his Ghost World comic and Art School Confidential short story for the big screen.
Payne's Ad Hominem will produce the film with Josh Donen, on behalf of Sam Raimi's Stars Road.
