Samuel L. Jackson will star in Irwin Winkler's wartime drama Home of the Brave.
The film tells the story of three soldiers who struggle to return to their ordinary lives after a long tour of service in Iraq. Jackson will play a doctor who finds it impossible to readjust to day-to-day life.
Winkler will direct from a script by Mark Friedman (Broken Record). He told Daily Variety: "It's a subject we read about but certainly haven't dramatised very much. There is a reluctance on the part of the studios to market and distribute this kind of film because it's drama, it's original and it's not a remake."
Also starring Christina Ricci, Jessica Biel and Brian Presley, shooting on the film begins in Morocco next month.
