Guillermo del Toro (Hellboy) has signed on to direct futuristic fantasy thriller Killing on Carnival Row.

Based on a script by Travis Beacham, the New Line Cinema feature will be set in a dark futuristic city home to humans, faeries, elves and vampires.

The story will focus on a detective in search of a serial killer.
