According to Thompson on Hollywood, the composer will score the DC Comics adaptation, but will not reproduce the iconic John Williams theme for the film.
Zimmer added that his work on the project will commence once the scores for Pirates Of The Caribbean: On Stranger Tides, Sherlock Holmes 2 and Kung Fu Panda: The Kaboom Of Doom are completed.
Based on a screenplay by David S. Goyer, Snyder's Superman is scheduled to arrive in 2012.
